SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO - March 1, 2022 - In a recent email to clients, on-demand design company Koncepted announced plans to closer align its services with Web3 design.
The email, co-written by Jan Markeljc, Founder at Koncepted, and Chris Berry, Co-founder & Managing Director at Partyhat, noted that the vast majority of Koncepted’s existing clients already operate in Web3 industries. With the vision of “doubling down on Web3 design in 2022,” the company will increase its presence in this sector, with the acquisition of specialist talent such as senior blockchain designers, game concept artists and economy creators, and 3D animation and motion designers. Hiring began late last year, with a dedicated motion designer joining Koncepted in December 2021.
Web3 describes a new, decentralized internet that provides end users far greater autonomy than Web 2.0. While Web 2.0 offers a high degree of interactivity and a heavy focus on social media and other user-generated content, its dominant platforms are highly regulated spaces that act as a central authority. In the same way that DeFi seeks to break the stranglehold of legacy financial institutions, Web3 seeks to solve issues of centralization by leveraging emerging technology, including the transparency and immutability of blockchains.
This is not uncharted territory for Koncepted. Founded in 2016, the company has worked closely with clients like Gamercraft, Seedify, and WonderHero, operating in esports, DeFi and play-to-earn respectively. These industries are increasingly reliant on Web3 innovations, which Koncepted will continue to provide alongside a new slate of Web3 services covering non-fungibles (NFTs), trading, metaverse and more.
With the acquisition of specialist talent and adjustments to its plans, including the introduction of a new tier and annual billing discounts, Koncepted is combining its six-year history with a natural progression into specialized Web3 design.
Mr Berry later commented: “Web3 is very much in line with the solution-driven, bar-raising ethos of Koncepted. They’ve done great work in this space and will continue to do that, with the support of the exciting new talent we’re bringing in to bolster our design capabilities. Partyhat itself is actively exploring Web3 principles across business, technology and influencer marketing, and Jan and I see amazing new opportunities to benefit from the integration that already exists between our companies. Our colleagues and our clients have much to look forward to.”
